Requirements for qualification include (1) completion of coursework accredited through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, (2) completion of an accredited dietetic internship with experiences in medical nutrition therapy, foodservice, and community nutrition, (3) a successful score on a national nutrition examination given by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and (4) completion of continuing professional education following initial registration.
